It is otherwise light gray in color and smooth with no pitting. The buttstock is mounted with a crescent buttplate which was also color casehardened with about 50% faint colors remaining on it. Almost all of the original varnish remains on the forend which shows very little wear and also on the buttstock which has light wear to the varnish in the wrist area. The grooved forend and straight grip walnut buttstock are in excellent condition. The tubular magazine has about 80% original blue finish remaining. All markings on the barrel are excellent. It is mounted with a steel blade front sight and a sporting style rear sight. The barrel has about 90% original blue finish. The octagonal barrel is 24 3/8" long and has a 3/4 length tubular magazine beneath it. The right side would have only about 70% of the color casehardening remaining taking into account this small area of pitting and discoloration. In addition, there is slight discoloration otherwise on the right side. ![]() There is a thumb print sized area at the center right side of the frame which is moderately pitted. ![]() The color casehardening on the left side would appear to be 100% but the problem is on the right side of the frame. ![]() ![]() The frame has about 80% of the good vivid color casehardening remaining. 1st Model with color casehardened frame and no cut-outs on the side for the breechblock.
